Inspired by artists such as Friedensreich Hundertwasser, a famous and highly regarded Austrian artists of the twentieth century, incorporating nature and vibrant colors, Susan’s art is abstract, organic, saturated with color, and draws the viewer in. Like the artists who influence her, such as Mexican Vladimar Cora whose work has been called neo-figurative, minimalist and coarse, Susan Fielder’s art is neo-primitive, outsider art (a label created by French artist Jean Dubuffet to describe art created outside the boundaries of official culture).
